Tampa Bay Bepis† - Three More Signings
The Brewers touched on just about everything today as they picked up a goalie, a wing, and a defender. Allow me to introduce them to you.
Oldrich Pohunck - Goalie
Pohunck is a Czeck goalie who played for Wild Shot from Czeck. Pohunck was not given any opportunity from Wild Shot and was evidentially dropped at the end of the season. He now finds his way into the US where he will compete with Jonathan Cook for the starting goalie spot for the years to come. It is believed that he will be starting this coming season, since the Czeck Republic has great teams and with that, great players. Pohunck has already witnessed what it takes to be the best by observing his country's outstanding players and that this as rubbed off on him. However, Cook has experience with the team and has proven to be a strong goalie in this division, holding over an 85% save percentage and a 95% save percentage in his final two matches.
Slavomir Gazi - Wing
Gazi has the skills to be one of the top scorers in the division this year. He has an outstanding ability to get open and make his shots count. Gazi started his career two seasons ago in his home country of Slovakia, where he played in thirteen competitive matches with the St Louis Kings. He was then let go, where he was picked up by the Russian team, Novokvznetsk. He spent all of season 17 on the bench for this Russian team until being let go at the end of the season. Gazi has great potential and will certainly see match time this coming season for the Brewers. But he still has a lot of shaping to do to fit into the Brewers' overall scheme.
Rafael Klenha - Defender
Klenha might just be the most exciting signing so far. Klenha is a veteran Czeck defender, but one who has been in the Americas for the past season. He started his career with minor Czeck club, Dynamo Cvrcovice. Here, he trained, but saw no game time. He was sold at the end of season 16 to a Canadian team, Selkirk Royals. Here, Klenha filled more bench time. Eventually, he was let go and picked up by the Division III American team, Crickets. He played every remaining game with the Vermont team where he gained a fair amount of recognition as a defender. He may not be the top scorer from the defensive position, but he is fantastic at limiting opponent scores. Watch for this veteran player make a significant impact, and potentially even earn himself a captain role.
