Edmonton Frozen Blizzards† - Mid-Season Review
It has been a full season since Edmonton Frozen Blizzards have release an press release and that has been due to the busy nature of the team.
Gone are all the highly paid coaching staff, gone are the physio team as the team last stated they needed to cut these staff members to due to the high expenses. The focus is still very much were it has been since the start (season 25). The team continue to build it's off ice resources well icing an very competitive team.
It has been three season since the team has come back into existence with the arena seeing major overhauls as projected by Team Owner & GM Robert Bouchard.
"Three season doesn't seem that long and I must admit we have made great progress with full minor Arena upgrades completed to bring more effective revenue into the team. We have then started step two of the project as we are now increase the seating capacity to Triple level seating with Sky Boxes. This will take at least another two season before this is completed as we still have three more sections to complete at 100 days per section." commented Bouchard about the project."Level 3 of the Project will be an on going affair as we will require much more time and money to come up with the estimated $43,5 Million per section to complete the capacity of the Arena to Max 20, 000."
"We will still continue to focus on building up the off ice resources as our facilities have taken an back seat to the Arena project. The facility project will most likely fit between level 2 & level 3 of the arena project as we will look to up grade facilities until at least level 10." Added Bouchard about further off ice improvements."Once we are at level 10 we will then focus still on the facilities but more selective ones to improve the whole hockey operations so I am think we will increase your Human resources, training facility, Regeneration facility and Sports Academy to level 18 before moving onto Level 3 of the Arena upgrades. But things are always open to change."
On the Ice the team isn't expected to change much as we have a team that we are very happy with for the fore see able future. We might shop for another improvement in nets like we were last year at this time but we are finding this to be very expensive affair with team paying as high as $300 million for Goalies in around the level that we are looking. Yet we are only wanting to spend $10 million max for such a goalie. So it will take luck and time to find such a low cost transfer.
We have already wrapped up the regular season championship after all the changes took place in the league at the start of the season left us and Detroit as the only two strong teams in the league but Detroit's Manager as gone awol leaving our team to run away with the championship. This means we head into the Play-off; which are still weeks a head of us as the favorites to promote to a higher league. We have checked the higher leagues and expect to be in the relegation fight since we are promoting before we are really ready too.
On a plus side we are going to collect $5 million for winning the league, possible $5 million for Play-off championship & $10 million for Promotion all of which will speed up the arena building project meaning more income for the team sooner then later. We are also looking at $4.5 million for our players dominating the league stats.
It will be an interesting end of the season to say the least but at the end of the day we really still hold out hope that someone will up set us in the finals of the play-offs so that we don't promote just yet!!
