Bricktown TwigStarz - Bartle Out With A Bang
16.12.20
Bricktown
The start of the season is a wild time for most, from eyeing up the competition in the league, to checking in on how players have changed, aged, dropped off.
But above anything, it's in the transfer market where things really heat up. Young players are hot commodities, and teams are really looking to take advantage of the timing, maximizing the amount of training and playing time they can get for their players.
GM TwigStarz did just that, realizing that goalies are always a hot product, and in having 3 of decent quality, rolled the dice with one. Third string goalie Elijah Bartle, a former Div. 1 first overall pick ended up as the odd man out after a few seasons of unremarkable play.
Sporting a career sv% south of .830, although his numbers were affected by generally being the guy to be thrown to the wolves when the Starz were clearly outmatched. He came to Bricktown as a 15 year old, elite prospect having just been cut from his draft team, but could never get over the hump, being behind franchise goalie Denver Caven, and battling it out with Thomas Inglethorpe. Unfortunately, it was a tough situation, and one day a decision had to be made.
Putting him on the market for 1 million was a high ask, but receiving just over 7 was something nobody ever really expected.
Bids came in slow at first, topping one million with but a quarter hour to the deadline. But they ramped up fast, and before anyone knew it 4, 5, 6 million dollar were being tossed around.
Crazier things have happened, but all things considered, that might speak to his quality, and only time will tell with him, how he can perform, and if keeping Inglethorpe really was the best choice.
Let the season begin!
