With eleven games played so far this season, the Marion Steamengines have chugged along to a disappointing 4-7 record and are currently 6 points behind the number eight Seaford Glories for a shot at a playoff birth.

Toward the end of last season we had heard some pretty big boasts coming from the Marion club's GM. In a press conference following the last win against the Hoffman Express team, GM Himanoco was showing some major signs of frustration when he addressed the press.

"I suppose that I'm not surprised you (explitive) came at me with my own words so lets talk about things shall we?

"What did I say? Oh yeah, we'll be on the high side of .500? Well the season isn't over yet and yes, I'd say that there are two or three of those games I'd like to have back and that would have had us then at more along the lines of oh, 6-5. We've been pretty non-chalant about the importance of some of these early games and it shows. I've been talking it over with the coaches and staff and we'll be taking a harder look at the importance of games as the season rolls on.

"As far as the rest of what I said, if you're paying attention we're closing in on seating for 2000 and the scoreboard will be here in Mid March. I was sorry that I had to let Ryan Bridge go. I think he is the main reason our sponsers signed with us and we'll be working hard to find an acceptable replacement to keep our sponsers happy come negotiation time.

"I still think a lot of this team - the Engines are poised to do good things this season and I'm looking forward to rehashing everything I've said today and see what else you jerks can find to throw at me."
