The Canadian Express pull of a thrilling 10-9 win in a shootout over The Mauraders for the first victory of the franchise! This was a game that had no defense what so ever (Not trying to take anything away from the defense man).

"My stats are not great but that's okay, we got the big W and that's all we wanted to do!" Said goaltender Junior Watkins, who faced only 33 shots giving up a 9 spot.

Mark Pugh finished as your first star with 10 shots directed to the net, a goal and 2 assists.

"I realize it was high scoring and I only had 3 points (laughs) but I felt good out there and it felt surreal to be named first star in our franchises first game!" Said Pugh.

The game featured some big hits as well, Cory Atkinson of the Mauraders had a huge hit on Harry Dryer which was called a cross check, how ever it was a terrible call. The Express scored on that power play to tie the game 9-9 as they finished 1 for 5 on the night.

"That call was complete bull****, I hit him clean shoulder on shoulder!" Said a rightfully angry Atkinson after the game.

Brandt Morrison was the lone player to score in the shootout as Junior Watkins earns the franchises first win stopping all 3 shots in the shoot out.
