During the final week of April, The owners of the Thundering Herd, formerly the "Georgia Bulldogs", announced that the older GM would be fired, and hired on new blood to replace him. The name was not the only thing that would change under the new GM, bringing in a couple new players, he spoke about the continuous excellence and play off appearances the team have had in the past, and how he was going to keep that going.

But as we saw, big promises and huge spending did not meet expectations. In his first four weeks as the GM, the team went 2-7. Things weren't much better after that either. However, he kept to his previous statements. The team owners came close to firing him after he went on a huge spending spree. When asked about the spending, he only smiled and stated "It takes money to make money"

Among the thousands of dollars spent to try and improve the team, Boris Childers, Milomir Nedeljković, Jiří Procházka and John Cousineau were all acquired. And those are just the names that really stand out among a host of others who had been bought. So many players have come and gone since the new Gm was appointed, and the lines changed so often, that some players claimed to have had problems remembering what line they were on.

Still, there must have been some method to the madness. The Thundering Herd have only lost one of their last ten games. They have manage to become one of the highest scoring teams in the league in only two weeks. They went from an automatic win, to a Team your scared to play. They went from a team record low of 16, to the current rank of number 7 in the league.

Among those many wins over the last several weeks, Top teams like the Bolts, and the "Dropkicks" were defeated. They also nearly beat "the cupcakes", their goalie, Jiří Procházka, keeping them to only five points. "The Cupcakes" are the highest scoring team with an amazing +217. When played earlier in the season, The Herd lost 10-0. The coach said even though they lost, he likes to look at it as a win. Had it not been that final third period goal, the two teams would have gone to over time. "We are unbeatable in over time. I feel that is when we play our best." The Head coach went on to say.

With two of the high ranking teams beaten, and a third almost beaten, people have begun to turn their heads and once again take notice of the Herd. Not becasue they are the laughing stock of the league, but because they are not a decent team who are expected to go deep into the play offs. The Gm says he is still waiting on the final to games to be played until he gives his opinion on how far they will really go, but we can finally say this. The Thundering Herd finally came together.
