Dunedin Thunderbirds fans were last night celebrating a rare double against 2 of the biggest teams in the Other World I:I league, beating Macabi Tel Aviv last round and Macabi Tuborg this round.
Last round the Thunderbirds were on the right side of a 4-3 scoreline against Tel Aviv, but after leading 4-0 almost choked to finish 4-3 in a close match. Then to top off the success they were fortunate to win 5-4 in overtime aginst Tuborg last night.
Manager erictheeel, interviewed by journalists after the game, said "I am extremely proud of how my team has performed in the last two rounds, especially today after our close loss in the National Cup quaterfinal to BNK recently."

With the preseason goal at The Birds Nest to qualify for an international competition, many fans saw the National Cup as a way in. But with the Thunderbirds just missing out, final league placing is their next best option. And if they can keep up with recent results there is no reason why they can't finish in the top 4!
