Woolmer Hill Wyverns† - More questions than answers?
The Wyverns welcomed the Hungarian team HAKTER HADAI HC to the Rackfield Arena tonight and served up a thriller.
A goaless first half was followed by a six goal second with both teams heading into the third tied at three all.
A single goal made all the difference as the Wyverns sneaked off with the win in front of 1000 fans.
Head coach SAROUN of the Wyverns was less than impressed with his charges, citing the shorthanded goal as being a sign of possible issues. 'To have a goal scored against you when on a powerplay is unacceptable.' He said. 'We are proud of our record in this respect but to have it lost at moments like these is not good. Generally I am pleased of the performance of the team, we bounced back and won the game, but never from a point of dominance.'
Manager Ransom was slightly more upbeat, 'I hope the fans of HATKER HADAI enjoyed their visit to our arena and I tip my hat to their players who provided a real edge of the seat encounter that could have gone either way.'
Tomorrow the Wyverns take on fellow UK III.II team KASBI-UNO in a friendly. 'We will face this like any other friendly.' Commented coach SAROUN. 'The team to be selected will be of a high standard, friendlies though do not indicate who it will be that we play in the league.'
