The Mineurs have finished their first season in II.1 after some suprising placement playoffs. This season was an adaptation season to all the team who had to get use to play vs stronger teams because of last years promotion. The team had a difficult regular season but they still managed to get out of the auto-relegation zone by only 4 points. They got a 10th place in the placement playoffs efter beating the 9th and 11th seeded teams.

Teodor Vaverka and Maximilián Šoltys were the best players offensivily for the Mineurs whit 31 and 33 points. Even if Šoltys is known for his shooting abilities he led the team whit 18 assists. The Sherbrooke team bought the defensman for 26 million at the end of last season. He scored 4 goals and added 16 assists for a total of 20 points. It was an okay season for both Mineur goalies. The swedish goalie Kim Gunnarson played as well as he could and the new star goalie Carlos Serrano had to adapt to his new team during the regular season.

After the difficult regular season the Mineurs had an amazing run in there placement playoffs. After a difficult first game the Mineurs dominated the second game and won a 5th consecutive 3rd game vs the team that missed the playoffs by only 1 point, the Bow valley Bucs. They swept the Qc Nordiques during the next round with two tight wins. The great run of the team was hardly stopped in the third round after two difficult looses vs Mobus HC. The big star of the placement playoffs for the Mineurs was Carlos Serrano. The goalie won 4 of his 6 games and maintained a 94.89 save percentage and a 1.49 GAA.

The team decided that he would stay at least for another season in this team. Kandráč was pretty happy to stay even if he will not be the captain anymore. «Even if I am not the captain anymore I still think that I can bring good things on and off the ice. I am not the team superstar like I used to be, but I think I can still help the team a lot as a good two-way center », said the all-time leading scorer of the franchise. The season assistant captains will be Antoine Slater and Kirill Dobrynin.

The team also sold Leon Haussmann and Fedor Majurník for a total of about 5M this week. They will now look for a good right defensman and a young lw forward.
