(Excerpt from recent episode of Inside Hockey with Michael Landsberg.)

Landsberg - "You are on record as having problems with the draft procedure."

Roedb - "Yeah we do, you know, but I need to be careful cause I don't want to get fined or anything, you know?"

Landsberg - (chuckling) "You don't like the time lapse between the draft and the arrival of the players, right? You think there is something fishy about that?"

Roedb - "Well yeah! I mean, why the &$^# does the league need three days to 'process' stuff or whatever? We drafted the kid and now he is ours. This 'paperwork' bull@*#^ really grates! Where do these guys go? They just kind of 'disappear', you know, like some really bad episode of the X Files or something! I mean, how the &$^# do we even know if it is the same guy that we drafted!? They tell us the guys name is Laperrier or something and that he is a B prospect, he vanishes for three days and then pops up on our doorstep telling us that he is the real McCoy! How the &$^# do we know, you know!?"
