Africville Sea Sides owner John D. has announced the formation of the club's Football Division, which will go by the succinct, if unimaginative moniker of Africville Sea Sides FD. The original 22 man team will mainly be made up of players from around the Africville-Victoria area. This has created an interesting mix of players for the upstart Football club. When asked about the make-up of his young squad, John D. was reported to have said, "We have a number of special players... and we have a number of special players." When mentioning the latter special players the owner made an odd "air quotes" gesture with his hands.

Lance McGinnis will wear the number 10 shirt and captain the squad, and Jarvis Histed has won the starting role at the all-important keeper position. According to John D., the teams starting 11 is solid, but lacks depth.

"Right now we are just focused on building the program. For our special players we will look to get in shape and practice hard, and for our 'special players,' I just want to say we are in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990."
