USA Minnesota Frostbite - Frostibite Win League and Playoff Championship, Earn Promotion to Top League

After winning the regular season championship and advancing to the League II.1 final for the first time in franchise history, the Frostbite won the playoff championship and promoted to the top league. "This has been a goal of ours since our team first formed," said GM Joe, "and I am proud that so many of our original players and fans who have been with us at the beginning our going to get to enjoy our team playing at the highest level of competition." The Frostbite also advanced to the third round of the National Cup for the sixth straight season.

Howard Little finished eighth in the league with 111 points, Vince Mott finished eighth in the league with 52 goals, Devy Babinski and Henry Godfrey finished fifth and tenth among defensemen with 77 and 71 points, respectively.

A variety of players achieved career milestones during the season. Mott achieved both the 1100 and 1200 point milestones. Patrick Black recorded his 100th career shutout. Milton Morris logged his 900th career point, while Little and Godfrey both reached the 300 point milestone. Tom Demers, Babinski, and Thomas Nunn all reached 200 career points. Damon Winstead, Tommy Wheeler, and Mark Behr achieved their 100th career points. Clint Hart scored his 300th career goal, while Nunn, Adrian Chavez, Clyde Li, and Alexander Dennison all notched their 100th career goals.

The Frostbite added a new prospect to their team, selecting goaltender Shawn Marshall with the 2nd overall pick in the draft. "Marshall has the potential to be a really great goalie in this league, and we are excited to have him on our team" Joe said. In order to make room on the roster, the Frostbite had to release long time right winger Douglas Franklin. Franklin was an original member of the Frostbite. In 429 games with the team, he scored 255 goals, 381 assists, and 636 points. "Dougie is going to be missed greatly, his ferocity in front of the net and heavy shot helped him score a lot of big goals in our teams history" Joe said.

The Frostbite also said goodbye to head physiotherapist Randy Giacoletti, who retired. "Randy's skill and hard work helped keep our players ready and enabled us to play our best in practices and games" said Joe, "and we hope he enjoys a well earned retirement."

Joe continued looking to the future. "We know that the top league is going to be fiercer competition than we've seen in the fast, and we look forward to the challenge."
