Rockland Rage Conclude Thrilling Season 50 with Top 5 League & Playoff Finish
As Season 50 draws to a close, the Rockland Rage have much to reflect on and celebrate. Competing in League I.1 (USA), the team delivered a compelling performance throughout the season, demonstrating resilience, skill, and a commitment to excellence.
Season Overview:
• Final League Standings: 5th Place in League I.1 (USA)
• Season Record: 26 - 9
• Goals For: 295 | Goals Against: 64
The Rage fought hard, securing 5th place in a highly competitive league. Although the team faced a tough first-round playoff exit against Momentum, they rallied to secure victories in placement games, defeating the Beavers and Michigan Red Wings to solidify their 5th place final position.
National and International Success:
• National Cup: 3rd Place
• Cup Winners' Cup (International Tournament): 3rd Place in Group 7 (6 Wins, 4 Losses)
The Rage’s performance extended to tournament competition, with a strong 3rd place finish in the National Cup and a solid run in the prestigious Cup Winners' Cup, where they finished 3rd in their group.
Individual Player Highlights:
• Eric Johansson: The season’s highest scorer, set a new single season team record with 134 points (62 Goals, 72 Assists).
• Romain Tröhler: Highest scoring defenseman with 56 points (12 Goals, 44 Assists).
• Season-Long All-Star Team Selections:

A Fond Farewell: Defenseman Kevin “Bam Bam” Baumgartner, a long-time all-star defenseman for the Rockland Rage, retired this season. Baumgartner leaves an indelible mark on the team, holding the record for most games played (947) and ranking as the second-highest scoring defenseman in team history with 674 points. He was fittingly inducted into the Rockland Rage Hall of Fame.
Coach’s Commentary: Head Coach Adam Lipus reflected on the season, stating, “It was a season of ups and downs. We lost a few games in the second half that tanked our hopes of a high seed in the playoffs, but overall I was pleased with the fight and determination of the team.”
Arena Upgrade: The Rage also completed significant upgrades to their home arena, The Rage Cage, which now boasts a capacity of 20,000 spectators, ensuring even more fans can experience the excitement live.
Looking Ahead: As the Rockland Rage look towards the future, the team is poised to build on their successes and aim for even greater heights in Season 51. With a solid foundation and a dedicated roster, the Rage are ready to continue their pursuit of hockey glory. Come on out and support the team in Season 51 – Let’s Go Rage!
