We all know this small town of 3 504 of population called Saint-Pascal, located in Quebec province, that joined Canada's IV. 13 league at the start of the eight season in the league's history after a most intense exchange of argues and other stuff... At the beginning, the commisioner of the league wasn't approving the participation of a small town hockey team in the league. Yet, somehow, someone managed to convince him to let the team enter the league. At first, they were suposed to enter the 32nd division of Canada's fourth league, but the very same man managed to get a start in the 13th division. We can also note that the Saint-Pascal Imperial was the best elite team of the Beauce Belchasse Frontenac Hockey League holding the record for the most goals scored in one season three years in a row, the most goals scored in one game (a 10-0 shootout at home), the most shutout made by a goalkeeper two years in a row, and finalist for the BBFHL cup five years in a row which they won four times in a row.
'That was the old good time,' said the manager John Secronom, 'The thirteenth division is of an higher level of play.'
That is very true since the Imperial has, after twenty nine games, thirteen wins, one overtime win, and fifteen looses totalising fourthy one points. They have a ratio of +7, seing they scored 167 goals againt 160.
'Our goal is not to win the cup straight in the first season,' said the team owner Samuel Charest. 'We're there to entertain the fans first and have fun, the victory comes second.'
The captain, Wendell Cox, had this to say: 'I find this league very challenging and it's fun. At least, it's not like the BBDHL. We've got nine games to go until the end of the season and everything can happen.'
The assistants, Stu Loucks and Carson Dicks, weren't available to comment on the Imperial's performance.
'The fact that the team's arena can only accomodate four hundred fans and that they only have two actual staff members, not couting the twenty eight players, is the proof this hocket team comes from a small town and should return to their previous league,' claimed the fourth league comissioner.
Here's the list of the Saint-Pascal Imperial effective: Samuel Charest is the team owner and conferencer, followed by the manager and coach John Secronom. The doctor Roy Lebrun and the physical therapist, Michael Gamble.
'Our staff might be low, but every great teams had to start somewhere with almost nothing,' commented John Secronom, 'Also, we are proud to be sponsorised by Tropic Tourism and Channel @ and we've recently invested $2 110 000 into the Sports Centre.'
Let's wish the best of luck to the Saint-Pascal Imperial hope they finish the season on a good boost so they can make the playoffs. They are one point away from the eight position allowing them to be in the series. The St.Catherines Beasts and currently on the eight rank. Even if they are demoted a few divisions, they will surely be able to climb the divisions again and maybe reach the third league in the next few seasons. This team is still in development and we never know what can happen with young players.
