The Redshift have been off to a solid start since dropping down to div2. They lead the league in goals (average of 6.4/game) and have surrendered the fewest goals against (1.4/game). The powerplay is humming along at a clip of 42% and the PK has surrendered 1 in 26 tries for a league leading 96% success rate.

"The boys have simply been playing well. That's all it comes down to. We've used 31 players so far this year, spreading the ice time around to the rookies as well as the veterans. It is our goal to give our top-3 goalies all equal time in net as well" said Head Coach Willson.

In addition to strong team play, Redshift players sit top-2 in the league in points. Antoine Slater with 32 points in 16 games, 9 more than teammate Bednara.

"It's not about individual numbers here. Sure, it can be about getting saint2e's wife's number, but hey... it's not about putting up solid stats. The only stat that truly matters is the W column" said Slater. Slater was a longtime Redshift captain. This year, Braden Dubeau has taken charge nicely. The 19 year old Canada International 14 points already, more than any other season, but most notably is a +18.

"It's been a good year for me. I've seen lots of ice, developed my game nicely. And am centering the top line on Team Canada for the time being. Life is pretty good, I certainly can't complain" said Dubeau. "My only real complaint is being on a line with Šoltys and Chryzostom Borowy. You'd think the sniper would shoot (Šoltys) and the playmaker would pass (Chryzostom Borowy) but they can't make up their mind. Sometimes I wonder if I should just pass the puck to one of the defencemen. At least they would shoot and not apologize for it!"

In other news, both the Redshift and their soccer counter parts the Ontario Alpha Particles will be sporting two patches for the remainder of the month. The patches will be also placed on all merchandise both at Cm-244 place and at Veterans Memorial Arena.
