(AP) A surprise press conference arranged at Mudcat arena the Briar Patch earlier today left reporters scratching their heads as to the nature of the event. Called by team GM and President Paul Roedb, the pressie promised an overview of the team's strategy for next week's commencement of the PPM hockey playoffs. Instead, Roedb showed up with Mudcat Team Psychologist Pierre Pettigrew and referred all questions to his club's mental health representative. Confused yet obliging, reporters asked Pettigrew how the Mudcats would approach their first round playoff placement match-up. The former MLA Pettigrew, maintaining a steady smile and direct eye contact with TV cameras, sat motionless and remained silent while Roedb played with his mobile phone. After about ten minutes of unanswered questions and awkward silence, the Mudcat boss looked up from his phone, thanked the press for coming and the two men then abruptly stood up and left. Calls to team offices were unanswered at press time.
