Late on Sunday night Manager oldtimehockey4 decided to make the 2 largest acquisitions in Bow Valley Buccaneers history. After lengthy negotiations, two legends of the Guelph Gryphons system were transferred to Bow Valley for an undisclosed sum, as per team regulations.

Matthew Kennedy and Maurice Ebbrell come to the Bucs as former legends of the Gryphons organization. Stars in the Gryphs formative years in division III.7 and II.2, these two stars bring a veteran presence and experience in working their way up the divisional ladder. Their journey is very similar to the one that the Bucs have now, who have climbed up the divisions from division IV.7 in season 3 to division II.1 in season 5, where they currently stand.

As many know, the Bow Valley Buccaneers third season in PPM has not been a successful one. Low scoring and key injuries have plagued the team all year, and adding these two snipers is going to be key in moving this team forward and keeping them in division II.1 for another season. Gryphons manager canucks357 had this to say about the acquisition:

"Guelph Gryphons are pleased to announce the successful transfer of both Ebbrell and Kennedy to the Bow Valley Bucs. The legendary point producers and linemates will continue to play together for the foreseeable future and hope to first carry the Bucs out of the relegation window and eventually lift them to I.1 like they did the Gryphons."

With expectations high, both Ebbrell and Kennedy made their home debut today on the 2nd line, centered by 2 year pro Matt Porter. They made an immediate impact at home with Kennedy getting his first goal wearing the red and black. Their influence on this team though isn't just more scoring. It allows a very formidable first line to be iced with all-stars Cheda and Longworth finally together on the same line, and by having 2 very strong offensive lines, the Bucs are finally feeling optimistic that they can crawl out of the basement and stave off relegation.


News and Notes:
With 6 games left in the regular season, Bow Valley has been officially eliminated from the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. League III.2 rivals Montreals Canadiens are still in contention though for the playoffs, only 4 points out as of today. The Bow Valley Buccaneers wish them luck in making the playoffs and representing the III.2 contingent well.... Tony Kwan and Shane Paquet are only 4 days away from recovering from wrist fractures, however Tony Kwans status as second line LW is now in jeopardy, as is his status as a top 12 forward on this team.... Stephen "the Beagle" Darwin continues to be a workhorse in net for Bow Valley, now has 814 shots against in 31 games.
