Canadá Chem. Valley Contaminated† - Fare the well IV.2

It has been a strange sight lately at the Relatively Okay Arena. People bustling around, frantically in preparation for what's in store. New items on the menu, new souvenirs in the shops and new pucks in the urinals. The staff are getting ready for the big promotion to III.1.

Saturday night was a night of merriment. The arena took out the ice, and invited the fans to come celebrate the championship with the players and organization. The festivities started with the singing of the national anthem, which was quite amazing since more than half the players and staff are foreign! But they still took part in this time honoured tradition.

After that was the awards ceremony where all the championship rings were handed out. Then the single player awards where given. Kasper "The Unfriendly Ghost" Bojarski was named team MVP, with a GAA of .79 and a save percentage of 99.51%. He also was given his "Best Goalie" award from the league. Kasper replied "I feel very humbled with my friends here in this organization. And I plan to continue to move us forward". Pankrác Satinský was also given his "Top Defensemen" award. "I still can't believe I had a shot efficiency of 37%. Som prešťastná (I'm overjoyed)" he stated.

After the awards, dinner was served. It was a huge buffet style dinner featuring BBQ chicken, beef and pork. With all the sides you would normally find, like mashed potatoes, coleslaw and macaroni salads. Also there was the usual fare from the snack bars, like hotdogs, burgers, pretzels and fries. "The dinner was outstanding! Way better than mom's." exclaimed 8 year old Wily Walloo. The catering was handled by Tail Gater Cater.

Once the food was all under wraps, coach Dmitrijs Poļaks spoke. "We have done what we set out to do this season. Bring home the regular season and playoff trophies. Tonight is a night for celebration, and tomorrow for rest. Monday, we put our noses to the grind stone in preparation of our new competition in league III. These guys know what it takes to be a winning team, and none of them are ready to lie down and let us win without a fight every night!" The building erupted with applause since the coach very frequently has little to say.

Then manager Aowyr took over the mic. "These group of young men have really impressed me. Most of these guys are still in high school, yet have the drive and determination to win a championship. And it was not an easy road. Teams like the Flaming Beavers (who likely will win their promotional round to also join league III.1), Tire Irons, Dragons de Montréal and Les Bombardiers. It was no cakewalk. And with up and coming teams like Hate Crew and Lascivious Lusty Lemons, this league is going to be tight. But it is great preparation for next season. Plus we will be facing a few good friend of ours up in III. Including Jaschke and his "Muffin Fighters" who was integral to me taking over this team two and a half seasons ago!"

These the beer tents opened and the PA started playing music. The floor was cleared and it was time to party. A good night was had by all, but not eventful. A few rowdy patrons caused some wear and tear in the arena setting the team back an extra $86,402. But that was expected. Manager Aowyr said that all in all it was a success. Just a little extra work for Felix Casper (new head of maintenance picked up from the Guelph Gryphons). "This party was pretty big, but I am used to cleaning up after canucks357. That guy knows how to make a mess!"
