Today was a National Cup Day Round 2.
Our league have 5 team coming to the next round.

1st place Vohwinkel Foxes were playing against 3rd place team in league IV.21 EC Kassel Huskies and in very hard game gain victory with score 1-0. The only goal came on the 4th minute of game from 2nd line center Frederiks Zvīdris. In the next round they will meet with 15th place Master of Disaster in league II.3

3rd place Toronto Anarchians outshot 2nd place Krefeld Pengs from league IV.20 5-0. Win came due to huge amount of penalties of opponent. Anarchians were able to capitalize on 3 power play opportunities. Star of the came right defenceman Adam Lechner with 1 goal and 3 assists. Next round opponent is Eisfüchse positioned at 5th place of league II.1

6th place red-white alligators won 5-1 from 8 place Munich Vikings from league IV.4. Great secondary scoring effort from line 2 and 3; 2nd line center Blahoslav Peš had 2 goals and 3rd line left winger Remigiusz Błażucki added another pair. They will meet with Bruch & Gammel IcePilots positioned 19th in league II.2.

7th place Das beste Team der Welt had an opponent without general manager, however team was from upper league III.11 positioned at 16th place. Siegburger-Zebras lost 2-3 in very intense game. Das beste Team der Welt won mainly due to offence, as their defence didn't do anything to stop opponents, on only 15 shots they surrendered 2 goals. Honorable mentions are Fabien Steinbach and Niels Frank both with 2 points effort (1 goal and 1 assist). Opponent in the next round are Hallertau Cannibals positioned at 20th place of league I.1. Again one of the hardest seeds.

8th place Flensburg Wölfe had an easy game against team with no manager (and no name) Team noname 104724 from league III.11 positioned at 20th place. Score was 16-0. The biggest effort came from 2nd line who combined for 22 points. Next opponent is Eisfüchse 2010 positioned at 15th place of league II.4.

Congratulations to the winners and good luck in next round - we will need it, as all opponents are way stronger than us.

Now briefly through the other games results.

2nd place Bone Crackers lost 0-16 to Hamburg Nordiques positioned at 1st place of league III.6 - no surprise here.

4th place Fürstenberger Panther lost with score 1-26 to Wildwings positioned at 16th place of league II.4. Tough game, congratulations on goal against very strong opponent.

5th place Snus Audorf lost 1-7 to senit positioned 6th in the league IV.1. Despite being league 4 team, senit is quite strong, and Snus were playing with the low importance, so it's good to see them scoring.

9th place Lok Mitte lost 1-8 to Zorbau Punks positioned 7th in the league IV.2

10th place Löwen Frankfurt 1959 lost 1-9 to Kauguri Flames, team that took first place in our league during regular season in the season 16 and finished 2nd in the payoffs. Right now they are positioned 16th in the league III.8

11th place Mec lions lost 0-29 to Leipzig Snow Leopards - absolutely no chance there as this is team placed 1st in the league I.1

12th BlueDevils lost 1-14 against U-Men Thuringia positioned 1st in the league III.15. Nice effort scoring against tough opponent. Congratulations.

13th Teichländer FC lost 0-25 to EC Hadern III.4 (Position 6)

14th Kölner Haie EC lost 0-22 to Reichshof Penguins III.9 (Position 5)

15th Power65 lost 0-19 to Dogma Düsseldorf EG III.7 (Position 2)

16th place Matadoren Düsseldorf lost 1-20 Munic Devils III.5 (Position 11). Congratulations on scoring against much stronger team.

17th place EHC Grizzly Adams lost 0-20 against EHC Tiger & Dragon III.10 (Position 11)

18th place Fischtown Pinguins lost 0-25 to Ruhrpott Icetigers III.3 (Position 7)

19th Krefeld Pinguin played their game last week, when they didn't have general manager. They lost 6-10 to Team noname 106143 IV.25 (Position 20)

20th Ehc Annanas lost 0-21 to TSV Künzelsau I.1 (Position 7). That was 2nd game for them, last week they won in the round 1 of National Cup against Team noname 105476 IV.17 (Position 18) with score 7-5. At that moment they didn't have general manager too.
