EUA Minnesota Frostbite - Frostbite Hoist Third Place Trophy for Second Straight Season

The Minnesota Frostbite hoisted the third place trophy at the end of their season, bringing home hardware for the second straight year and the fourth time in the last five years. The Frostbite also had their fourth consecutive top-3 regular season finish and advanced to the third round of the national cup for the fifth straight season. "We are proud of the consistent quality finishes we are putting together," said GM Joe, "but the Frostbite remain hungry for more and want to keep working towards a championship and promotion to the top level."

A variety of Frostbite players reached milestones during the season. Vince Mott recorded his 1000th career point and his 600th career assist. Clint Winters achieved his 900th career point. Philip Cook and Clint Hart both logged their 700th career points, with Hart also nothing his 400th career assist. Ed Snow scored his 500th career point, while Paul Arevalo got his 400th career point. Elmer Benton, Henry Godfrey, Adrian Chavez, Howard Little, and Alexander Dennison all scored their 200th career points, with Chavez, Little, and Dennison also notching their 100th career assists. Thomas Nunn got his 100th career point. Matt Vandyke logged his 300th career assist, while Tom Demers and Devy Babinsky both reached the 100 assist plateau. Harry Chestnut scored his 100th career goal, and goalie Patrick Black logged both his 80th and 90th career shutouts.

The Frostbite also added two new players. First overall draft pick Lemuel Harp signed with the team. "We are very excited about getting Lemuel in our program," Joe said, "he is one of those all-around two way centers who can do it all. He will be a big part of our organization for a long time. The Frostbite also drafted defenseman Glen Haywoood. "Glen is a very effective defensive defensemen, with good playmaking skills, we are excited to have him" Joe said. To make room for these additions, the Frostbite had to party ways will longtime captain and center Phillip Cook, who scored 284 goals, 416 assists, and 700 points in 433 career games with the Frostbite, as well as longtime defenseman Yusuf Pressley who scored 94 goals 225 assists, and 319 points in 368 games. "Both of those guys are going to be missed" Joe said, "Phil's leadership guided us through many of our early years, and his passing skills created a lot of goals for this team, while Yusuf was a very positionally responsible defenseman." The team also parted ways with former head custodian Zab Cooper, who is enjoying a well-earned retirement. "Zab did a lot behind the scenes to keep things running around here," Joe said.

Off the ice, the team has started constructing full service restaurants in the arena. "We thought this was a great way to make the arena more enjoyable for the fans who make our success possible," Joe said.

In the international arena, Frostbite GM Joe coached the USA U20 team at the World Championships, while left winger Damon Winstead played on the U20 team and goalie Robert Turpin played on the U18 team.
