Elmira Horse And Buggies† - Buggies keep their heads high
Despite missing the playoffs for the second season in a row and suffering through what is most definitely their worst season yet, the Elmira Horse and Buggies aren't gonna let that get them down.
"Hopefully we can use this to our advantage," said Ryan Archambault. "We did have a bad year, but we definitely picked it up towards the middle and again at the end. We're not going to be taken lightly next season."
Every year, the Buggies finish at least one spot ahead of where they finished in the regular season. The team is hoping that's a trent to continue this year.
"We're pretty good at surprising people," said Milan Smrz. "A couple years ago we weren't expected to make the playoffs and we finished third. We were terrible at the beginning of this season, and there we were with 5 or 6 games left and still in contention, which is more than some other teams can say. So we're still pretty upbeat, even if we didn't make it."
The team has added depth this season, with additions like Relja Cajic, Mihas Lelikau and Marin Dascalu, just to name a few. Head Coach Isaac Ferraro hasn't revealed the team's next focus.
"We'll be a nice surprise next year, I'm sure."
