Canada SALISBURY NORTH STARS† - Stars back on an even keel!

Following a stellar start to Season 6 in new league II.3, the SALISBURY NORTH STARS are back to .500 after a 5 game slide to 13th place from an early stint atop the leaderboard.

The STARS climbed back to even par with a hard fought 4-3 victory over BC's Express, at the time in 11th place, the STARS being overmatched in all Team Strength categories save shooting.

Head Coach Justin White explains, "Yea, we had a bit of hard luck just prior the game against the Express when Champs (#1 goalie Iain Champman) went down with an injury. We started Rads (veteran #2 goalie Dorinel Raduta) and the team rallied around him big time. He stood on his head in the 3rd period to preserve a 1 goal lead for the win."

He also added, " This season is proving to be a stiff education for our guys, but most of them have been together for almost 5 years and there's a lot of chemistry in our line-up. They definetley know how to support each other on and off the ice. Even the younger players and anyone we bring on board a taught the importance of being part of the team and they all know their roles.

Added Head Manager Car Norris, "Our staff has done a magnificent job in scouting the opponent's and reporting to the coaches, that's seems to be a key here early in the season. There are some very good teams in League II.3 and we're trying to keep up.

I might add that I'm somewhat disappointed that a couple of our guys didn't make the National Team, they have the numbers and leadership qualities, but we've had no feedback from the big squad, so we'll keep pluggin away as the season progresses. We're looking at some guys on the market and our Sports Academy always does a good job, so hopefully we can keep pace with the big boys in our league and stay close to a playoff spot."

Stay tuned folks, the season is just under a third done, it's gonna get heated!!
