Brampton Capitals† - Brampton's Playoff Picture Becomes Clear
After finishing 9th in III.2 last season, the Brampton Capitals (then known as the Screaming Eagles) have made the playoffs for the first time in team history today.
When asked to comment on this team owner mrnegative15 said the following "This has been a big year for us in Brampton. Upgrading our facilities, our arena, the quality of players we have on the ice, and even the team name and look. I'm very proud of where we stand as an organization today. Right now, we are excited to get into the playoffs and get as deep as we possibly can, potentially giving our fans a run at the league championship."
The Capitals have been seeded at the 5th spot. Which means that they do not have home ice advantage. According to head coach Bob Petit this doesn't matter, when asked to comment on his team heading into to playoffs he said the following: "Our team is healthy right now and we've been on quite the roll lately. Short of a blip in a friendly game we haven't lost in weeks. We're building momentum and it's looking good for us heading into the playoffs and the International Hockey League tournament that we are currently participating in. Plus the win today against the Bresse Nordiques helped keep our momentum going I firmly believe that if we stay healthy we can go deep in both the playoffs and the tournament."
Of course, time will tell on the Capitals future. For now the Capitals look to their round 1 opponent Actus. During the regular season the teams spilt the season series 1-1 with Actus scoring 9 goals to Brampton's 6.
