Canada Bizan HC† - Bizan HC to Make First Playoff Appearance

The nail biting roller-coaster season has come to a conclusion, and BHC has secured a playoff berth with a 5 point margin over the ailing Sherwood Park Allstars. The Allstars lost the final four games of the season to drop from a relatively secure position a week and a half ago.BHC turned up the heat by winning 5 of 7 to end the season strong.

The Bizanos overpowered their opponent all game long, but still allowed 4 goals on 16 shots. "I'll have to ramp up my effort a little if we hope to fight off Endliner in the first round." Offered Josef Malý, the first string goalkeeper for BHC. "A 75% save percentage just won't do." Luckily for Malý, the rest of the squad exploded offensively to cruise to a 7-4 finish. Each line contributed to the score sheet, and Gagne hopes to continue that trend in the playoffs. "In order to overcome the powerful Endliner squad, we have to show our depth. Their top line is intimidating, but we can combat that with a hard-pressing attack through 60 minutes." Looking to the first round, team captain Stu Baudouin and Alternate John Curtis both remain sidelined. Their return is doubtful to happen before the second round of the playoffs, so the team will need to look to its depth players to bear the burden in the first round. Baudoin managed to finish second in the team scoring race despite missing the second half of the season due to injury.

GM Bisanti was jubilant after the final horn, "I am so proud of the team right now. We were looking down and out only two games ago but the boys pulled out all the stops and are carrying a tonne of momentum into the first round." The club still faces incredible challenges in the first round. BHC have the lowest GF and highest GA count of all playoff bound teams, and have not beat their first round opponent all season long. Despite all this, head coach Gagne hopes his team can pull off a huge upset in the first round: "This team knows how to play tough against a team like Endliner...we have a lot of tape to watch before our first game, but we're confident we can give them a run for their money."

With Endliner looking to secure promotion, though, BHC fans can count on the big guns firing everything they have at BHC. More to come on the first round action for The Bizan Hockey Club...
