Check Republic† - Check Republic welcomes new star
A welcoming crowd of nearly 100 spectators, fans, and local media turned out at the airport to welcome Slovakian star winger Imrich Kavuljak to the team. He was purchased for a sum of just over 67 million dollars, the largest purchase of any player in franchise history.
"He'd better be worth it," joked GM reverist.
The various players who gathered to see the 921 OR player and what he can do were visibly excited. Andrej Rybak was in particular. "It is nice to have another Slovakian player here with us." There are now a total of five (Rybak, Kavuljak, Daniel Bellaz, Milan Hradok, and Samuel Novosel).
"There's no rivalry," team captain Stephen Sanderson insisted when asked. "He's electrifying on the ice, and I can't wait to see what he can do."
Reverist maintained that Kavuljak won't play until at least Saturday's friendly, something that the latter is rumored to be bothered by. It remains to be seen if this amounts to a small bump in the road or a rocky start to a new era.
