The Waterlooville Goats came up against the Nordic Oilers tonight in a tough Ligurian Cup IV game on home ice at The Farmyard.
Both teams went into the game with one win and one defeat so it was always going to be a tight encounter.
The Oilers finally ran out 4-1 winners and their overall team strength was the main differnce between the teams.
Coach Ranby of the Goats commented after the game " we play great hockey in the first two periods but then we ran out of puff in the final 20 minutes, you can see why the Oilers are one of the top teams in the Danish leagues".
Sunday will see the Goats entertain the high flying BorEys Tigers from Italy in another Ligurian Cup game.This should be asnother crunch game with both teams on 2 points after 3 games and both will be looking to get in the top 4 to secure a place in the next round of the Cup.
