Canada Dunnville Mudcats - Referendum

(AP) Barely hours after new Mudcat owner Liu Ya Ya introduced a referendum asking local area residents to choose between their beloved hockey team or having highly unpopular figure Paul Roedb fired, the team's President and GM appeared in an advertisement for a Dunnville area real estate developer speaking of his fondness for the Southern Ontario town. The bizarre ad, with Roedb sweating profusely while seated in a sofa chair in a darkened room, shows the native Vancourite inexplicably reversing his views concerning the Mudcat's home. Roedb, his voice at times choking with emotion, explains how he and his estranged, former girlfriend had once actually considered buying property in the area and refers to the local population as "simple" and "wholesome". The advertisement is a promotion to recruit potential buyers to the Dunnville area. The club's President has had a tumultuous tenure in charge of the team, frequently demeaning and denigrating the local citizenry and is on record as describing the town as, among other things, the, "birthplace of the modern housefly".
